THE TRVE POST - El post de lo extremo v2

Ya se ha filtrado "Astral Fortress" y me ha gustado bastante más que "Eternal Hails", que era un poco demasiado lentísimo para mi gusto y, por qué no decirlo, sonaba a culo, aunque como fan de Darkthrone ya estoy acostumbrado y rara vez ha sido para mí un verdadero problema. En este, aun llevando esa misma onda doom han mejorado la producción, le han metido una o dos marchas más, un poquito de colorido instrumental (a veces llega a mascarse el jebi en el ambiente) y hay temas como "Stalagmite Necklace" o "The Sea Beneath the Seas of the Sea" ( ) que tienen una atmósfera bastante chula. Entre eso y que son el grupo más simpático del black metal (menuda portada, viva la autopropaganda), mis pulgares van hacia arriba. El disco de ellos que más me ha enganchado en bastante tiempo.

Me has puesto los dientes largos... que ganas de catarlo! Parece que me va a molar. (Y la portada es 12/10. A parte de que pocos músicos me caen mejor que Fenriz)
El "Eternal hails" tenía buenas canciones, pero joder, es que esa producción era mala hasta para dentro del género. Método de grabación: Patata Se me hacía inescuchable.

A este le tengo ganas, sobre todo por que llevo una época muy a tope con ellos, y tremenda enganchada al "Old star". Que tiene el para mi, uno de los mejores temas de la historia del metal. De verdad que lo creo.

Espectacular el de An Abstract Illusion, Hachazo

Algunas cositas que me han ido gustando estos días:

Junto al de Ashenspire, con lo que más he flipado en las últimas semanas. Un viaje sonoro.

Consisting of one 45-minute composition, the music is black metal roughly in the vein of Jute Gyte, Krallice, Mare Cognitum, and Ehnahre – with hefty doses of post-Branca microtonal guitar abuse, and a cinematic scope that draws on Randall-Myers’ work with orchestras. Aveilut’s mathematical abstraction and lyrical focus on the greatness of the void breed raw emotion, attempting to represent a catastrophe, the vastness and inevitability of things outside our control; as well as a direct expression of grief, a kind of requiem. Though born of Randall-Myers and Moore’s intense intimacy with absence, Aveilut is an attempt to present a harrowing universal representation of death’s true form.

Casi suenan mejor en su primer bolo que en el álbum, que ya es decir.

Finnish death metal band Devenial Verdict bring a fresh approach to the style, particularly with their dissonant leanings. Where most such bands sound jarring and convoluted, Devenial Verdict are unusually expansive and atmospheric, and even allow for plaintive emotions to linger on. Intense parts accentuated by singularly powerful vocals are contrasted against the deeply immersive atmosphere where the emotive melodies shimmer starkly. It’s this alternating of seemingly conflicting yet familiar emotions that breaks down the listener and compels him to give in to the sheer evocative appeal of the music which only tightens its grip as the album unfolds. Each song adds a different shade, nuance, character to the momentum generated and compels him to bear witness to this phenomenon. Repeated exposure to it doesn’t diminish its impact nor its appeal, which only attests to the band’s commendable songwriting skills that keep the music varied enough to be engrossing but also cohesive enough to not digress. Albums like these don’t come very often and when they do, they change the scope of the style.

In the turbulent years following the winter of 2019's The Diving Bell release, Chrome Ghost have returned with their latest and most sprawling album, House of Falling Ash. This record sees Jake, Jacob, and Joe re-uniting with their long-standing creative partner and engineer Pat Hills to present an expansive album that covers everything from Doom, Shoegaze, Americana, with inspiration ranging from Philip Glass, Ennio Morricone, Fleetwood Mac, and Boris.

Over the past couple of years the band have been fortunate to share the stage with bands like YOB, Helms Alee, Big Business, Whores, Kowloon Walled City, CHRCH, Usnea, and many more. Looks for more dates to come




After the massive breakthrough of ‘Foreverglade’ in 2021, the Floridian swamp winds stir again as Worm conjures the nocturnal evocation of ‘Bluenothing’. Featuring members of Botanist, Lotus Thief and Kayo Dot, FORLESEN draw from epic doom, black metal, slowcore and dark ambient to subvert traditional songwriting with their new full-length, "Black Terrain", which weaves heartbreak and hypnosis to show FORLESEN at their most vulnerable and vicious. The band formed in San Francisco at the end of 2016 and released their debut, "Hierophant Violent," in 2020. Now based in Portland, OR, FORLESEN continue their compositional evolution, expanding into previously untapped musical realms.

No conocía a este gente y me han dejado flipando, esto va para lo mejor del año, una mezcla de gothic/dark con mucho black y death en una extraña mezcla muy extrema y progresiva. Hay gente aquí de Akercocke y Voices según he leído. Aquí unos temitas que son una pasada, todo el disco no tiene desperdicio:

De primeras no me ha gustado el de Chrome Ghost, con lo bien que estaba el anterior
