After a first full length, split records with Year Of No Light and Lords, as well as touring everywhere in europe; Karysun, stoner, crust & metal influenced punk duo from Caen France, recorded a new full length earlier this year. To keep the wall of down tuned guitar sound signature initiated by the previous recordings, Karysun went back to their now studio home, studio de la souleuvre with Guillaume Doussaud (Taint, Amanda Woodward, Aussitôt mort, headcharger) behind the mixing desk. They worked all together to get their more achieved material ever. Eight songs clocking almost 40 minutes is the result. Different landscape and atmospheres were reached, from straight forward crust punk to post rock progressions, from noise and technical metal riffs to minimalist metal punk rhythm. The duo has also been lucky enough to work with good friends and inspiring persons and vocalists such as Gerome Desmaison (Amanda Woodward), Dave Edwardson (Jesus Fucking Christ & Neurosis) Ryan Patterson (Black Cross & Coliseum). It was also time for new musical experiments and new instruments. Piano as well as three live drums can be heard. All together this is best material written and recorded from the band so far. Recorded in various places on two continent, mixed from april to july, mastered in september and october. Yes the band has chosen to take its time to have the thing correctly done.

« Here's a drums n' guitar powerduo that could give Black Cobra a run for the sludgy money - their debut album Interceptor (mucho rad Mad Max reference, there) combines huge crunchy garage metal riffs with spaced-out gutteral Lemmy vocals, leagues of fuzz, and a droning scumbag swagger that reminds me of a noise-rock tainted Black Cobra or High On Fire. There is some really rad shit happening in here though that makes these guys stand out...the distorted motorik drumming that opens "Until I Die" that then launches into an awesome boogie jam with a whiff of fuzzbomb krautrock and The Cult around the rocking verses; the pulverizingly slow and droning sludgecore of "Glad Corpses" that reveals a surprisingly poppy riff under all of the droning guitar crush; again, some massive motorik sludgemetal drone propulsion behind the instrumental title track; "Torche Police Cars" comes off like an unlikely cross between High On Fire, Motohead and Crowbar; "Paco De Lucifero" is a grim acoustic flamenco style tune covered in grit and distortion. All heavy as hell and rocking and loaded with TONS of killer fuzzed out groove, a far cry from the hardcore screamo of the members previous band Amanda Woodward, who were a big name in the French hardcore scene. But the album takes a hard left with the tenth and final track, "Certain Death". Here, it sounds like Karysun decided to drop the droning motorik boogie metal and spacey sludge and go for a massive psych-doom blast to close out the album. A thirteen minute epic of noisy hypno doom, a crushing almost industrial slo-mo riff repeating over and over under a hurricane of distortion and fx and those hoarse, howling vocals sinking deeper and deeper into the increasingly psychedelic mass of sludge noise. It eventually flattens out into a grinding dronescape, littered with shards of feedback and growling amplifiers, wrecked guitar strings dangling from bloodied instruments, a huge slab of blackened buzzing ambient free-noise sludge like a Total record slowed down to 10 bpm, a syrupy buzzing roar stretching out into infinity. Además está edición es totalmente nueva, con una mezcla y una masterización nuevas, presentada con un artwork modificado en un bonito Lp rojo transparente de 180gr.

15 canciones de su habitual mezcla de punkrock y hardcore melódico, y es que sus 20 años de existencia no les ha quitado ni una pizca de furia o capacidad critica contra lo que nos rodea.

l nuevo disco ha sido grabado en los estudios Sadman de Madrid con Carlos Santos a los mandos (Another kind of death, ictus, versvs, hybrid, proudz, adrift,..) y ha sido masterizado en los West West Side Music de Nueva York por Alan Douches (Converge, Hatebreed, Mastodon, Kid dynamite,…). Dándoles a las diez nuevas canciones un sonido potente y brillante que hace que su característico sonido heredero del new school hardcore de los noventa y el metalcore de la actualidad suenen como nunca.
