[STATEMENT FOR My Own Private Alaska - English Version]
Here's the thing: I've decided to stop MOPA.
So the trio - Yohan, Tristan, Matthieu - is over.
I'm very proud of what we have managed to accomplish artistically. There were some unforgettable moments of musical exultation, from Los Angeles to Moscow, via Vigo, Kiev or Beijing. Some difficult moments that affect you forever: the Ukrainian customs and their kalashnikovs, the historically cold winter weather in Porto, the 8-hour traffic jam in Lithuania. I will or my stomach will remember the most improbable of local beverages, from Chinese rice wine to German Vodka flavoured with garlic. I could carry on for hours...
I've always been a musician for the emotions, the amusement, the excitement, the encounters and travels. I probably sing by necessity. The need to express myself. To feel alive. To help projects that are important to me progress. To experience times of strong companionship, benevolence, self-sacrifice, pleasure, empathy, belgian jokes, the intellectual coherence when separate egos make room to form a whole.
Music must remain something simple, healthy and positive. Even in the expression of heavy music such as MOPA's.
Once one of these conditions is not met at a human level and the day to day stuff in the band generates more suffering than joy, you have to stop. Which is what I am doing.
I'll continue to sing MOPA songs because I love these songs.
First of all, as part of the outreach programme we initiated : "Turn the negative into positive" that I've been confronting head-on for the past few months. This social involvement in the prevention of anguish and unhappiness with kids in high schools, colleges, etc, makes music more noble and fills me with a lot of happiness and the impression that I am being fundamentally useful in a music industry that can seem totally disconnected from reality sometimes. The outreach will therefore carry on and the songs will continue to exist.
I might sing them in other contexts as well, quite simply because I know how strong the lyrics are, and their story isn't over yet. Neither is mine.
I thank Tristan and Yohan for everything they have done for me in the past. I only want to focus on the love and friendship we have shared, and I wish them both all the best in their respective lives, whether it be in Civil Aviation for Tristan, or the well deserved success of Cats on Trees for Yohan.
This joint story with Mopa Officiel ends here, but I have plenty more paragraphs to write in my life.

I won't make a neverending list of all the people that helped MOPA. May be too long. I just want to give all my greetings to Alexis Arickx alias Ketone, for his faith and courage. I would like to thank all the people, in our audience, of so many nationalities, who gave me so much love and support through what I was singing in MOPA.

Pero esto que es Slipknot o qué tipo de culebrón?

Yo los pude disfrutar con Textures hace 3 años en Madrid ... la verdad es que fue un conciertazo. Sobre la nota y su rectificación, pues poco que decir, que parece que los culebrones a lo LImp Bizkit y Slipknot van creando escuela ...

El MilKa este me parece a mí que es un personaje de cuidado...

La verdad es que a Milka le dan unos venazos de la hostia.

Psykup va como un tiro, un señor grupazo con unos discazos increíbles y lo dejan...(no sé los motivos)

Agora Fidelio, otro grupo de un estilo muy diferente pero de lo mejor que he escuchado nunca. Prometen sacar tres EPs, la gente compra por adelantado los 3 (yo incluído), hacen 2 (se separan) y del último no se sabe nada de nada.

MOPA: Hacen un EP, luego un disco que incluye varias canciones nuevas, después otro disco con las mismas canciones.... encima es al que más bombo le da para hacerlo internacional cuando es claramente el más difícil de llevar al extranjero. Y ahora va y pasa todo esto que parece de un culebrón.

Después tiene el disco ese de folk, que anda mandando emails para promocionarlo y que a mí sinceramente me parece un truño.

A ver si se aclara ya el hombre porque podría haber tenido una gran carrera (o por lo menos decente), pero lo está echando por la borda.
