Está bastante bien, sí. Para mí lo peor es que no inventan nada, aunque lo hacen bastante bien.

He estado un pelín desconectado de este post pero me han gustado mucho cosas como: Dödsrit, Frail Body, Convulsing, Slimelord, Sacrificial Vein, Civerous y alguno más

Por mi parte, cosas que me han ido gustando:

El mejor disco de death que he escuchado este año junto al de Convulsing y Cave Sermon. Tremendo.



Lo nuevo de estos blackers venezolanos es otro pepinazo, son buenísimos.



Lo nuevo de de esta gente me ha hecho MUY feliz.

Yo con el Frail Body aún estoy en proceso, porque qué cosa más abrasiva. Me gusta más la segunda mitad por ser un poco más "musical", de hecho.

Los de Replicant e In Vain me han chanado. Con el de Selbst no me aclaro todavía, así que le daré otro par de vueltas.

Algunos discos más que no veo puestos por aquí. El nuevo de los suecos Sarcasm, otra obra de death metal melódico sin excesivos mimetismos a tener muy en cuenta.



Los australianos Austere con su black depresivo cada vez menos depresivo y más melódico.

"Beneath the Threshold" represents AUSTERE in the here and now. With their fourth full-length the Australians have taken a long step into the present and embrace their musical future in a way that might have been expected after a 13-year hiatus. When their voluntary break ended with the release of "Corrosion of Hearts" in 2023, the duo consisting of Mitchell Keepin and Tim Yatras returned with a more mature and defined version of their own particular style of black metal, which reflected both their greater experience and evolution as artists. While "Corrosion of Hearts" formed the bridge between the band's musical history and the artists' fresh vision, "Beneath the Threshold" takes a leap of expression. AUSTERE's sonic heritage is still alive. Even though their roots in early Norse black metal and its depressive Scandinavian offspring continue to shine through, it is also apparent that the Australians have audibly strengthened their emotional expressiveness and previous blackgaze leanings beyond the point where a stylistic shift towards the latter needs to be diagnosed. On "Beneath the Threshold", AUSTERE offer more hooks and melodic harmonies to complement the multi-layered, harsh and dreamlike guitar textures expertly woven by Keepin with the aid of Yatras' emotive drumming. This development is emphasised by a suitable production that lets each of the elements shine and does not try to blur the riffs. For AUSTERE the stars under the Southern Cross have newly aligned and the harsh majestic beauty of "Beneath the Threshold" calls out to everyone to raise their eyes up to the night sky around the globe and behold the finally unleashed Australian band in its full musical glory.

El de In Vain se va a mis favoritos de este año. El de Exist está muy guapo también con ese toque meshuggah. Yo voy a poner uno que he escuchado hoy con un rollo pagano y blacker muy interesante:

Se me olvidó el debut de estos griegos, no sé muy bien cómo definirlo. Pero me flipa, mucho.

Tremendo discazo el de Replicant, una joya de death metal disonante y virguerías con las guitarras:


Y el de Selbst también buenísimo, black, melodias, disonancias, de todo:

EL de Frail Body muy bueno en lo suyo, bien fresco. Aunque es cierto que tampoco inventan la rueda. Estos últimos años han sacado buenos discos del palo Nuvolaoscura o ELLE.

Me apunto el de Selbst, que me suena genial y el de Jvadrat, que a si de primeras ha sonado a un cruce entre el black trascendental de Ulcerate + el Power Violence de Shikari.

The space between soaring euphoria and dwindling hope is much thinner than so many of us would dare to admit. Glassing, however, not only reside in this liminal space, but thrive.

The Austin, Texas-based power-trio have overcome every grisly obstacle thrown their way, sharpening their teeth over eight relentless years of touring and drinking in the wisdom earned off the back of their inimitable palette of post-hardcore, black metal and soaring, celestial shoegaze.

Now though, on ‘From the Other Side of the Mirror’, Glassing invite us inside to take a hard look at ourselves from an alien, uncompromising and often unsettling perspective.

Vamoooos a darle. Los descubrí con el segundo, "Spotted Horse" y me flipó. El siguiente "Twin Dream" también muy guapo, así que muchas ganas de este.

Solo le he pegado una escucha, pero muy buenas impresiones, le daré más cera seguro, pinta fenomenal.

Esto es una putísima maravilla. Menos de media horita donde te derriten el cerebro.

A ver... voy por el 4º tema, así que no puedo sentenciar. Pero de momento, me está pareciendo el mejor desde Old Star.

A mí me gustó más "Astral Fortress" (que además me parece de sus mejores discos) pero este tampoco desentona mucho. Están en racha y yo me alegro porque me caen muy bien, porque van a su rollo, porque siempre han hecho lo que les ha dado la gana y casi siempre les ha salido bien.
