The Ataris - October in This Railroad Earth (EP)

The Ataris are pleased to announce a new six song E.P.
“October in This Railroad Earth”

Available now only here on our Bandcamp page.

Recorded at Flying Blanket in Mesa, Arizona.
(The same studio where “All Souls Day” and the rest of “The Graveyard of The Atlantic” sessions have been recorded.)

These are a few ideas that sort of fell to the wayside over the years.
Ones that no one has ever heard before but we felt really should see the light of day.
So we got this idea, Why not go in to Flying Blanket where we’ve been recording the new album and record some of these old song ideas using the same solid sounding vintage tones and the warmth of analog tape.
All of the basic tracks were recorded live in one take with minimal overdubs.
Recorded in two days and mixed in two more.

It was a lot of fun! This is the end result.
A second E.P. with an entirely different batch songs
and super limited vinyl pressing of this release will follow at a later date.

For now we wanted to give you a nice surprise of something new to listen
to, to go along with our next big announcement!

We are very excited to announce some dates with Unwritten Law and a handful of our own U.S. dates throughout August into September.

First wave of dates are posted below.
More will be announced soon including Texas and Florida.
Florida will be with another completely separate great band that we can’t announce yet!
Also a couple really big exciting shows for November with another awesome band that will be announced after the Fourth of July weekend! So stay tuned!

Vaya cambio de voz... no me gusta mucho.

No sé qué le pasó a este grupo después del So Long Astoria, fue una de las pocas cosas buenas que me pasó en el 2003 i sigue siendo uno de mis discos favoritos, pero después desaparecieron del mapa con lo mucho que prometían.

Pues la primera es un temaso

Yo creo que simplemente con el Astoria tocaron techo y ya nunca han podido hacer nada que se acerque. En su caso me parece que simplemente se trata de una limitación de talento. Consiguieron eso, que no es moco de pavo, pero ya no pueden ir más allá, como un atleta que alcanza la mejor marca biológicamente posible

Yo creo que no han sabido manejar su carrera, basta ver lo poco que han sacado desde el Welcome the Night. Aqui ha habido problemas con drogas, ruinas económicas, exceso de egos, malas decisiones... no sé cuantos años hace que tienen que sacar el The Graveyard of Atlantic. Meterse en un estudio de vez en cuando, grabar una docena de canciones y girar no parece demasiado complicado en Estados Unidos, menos cuando tienes renombre. Muy mal lo habrán hecho.

Ostia si, la he visto esta mañana y estaba al corriente. Esta bien y parece que viene disco en serio. Y sobre el grupo me mantengo con lo que dije hace 9 años

The Ataris es sin duda una historia agridulce. Con un disco tan icónico en el género como So long astoria... y no haber podido tener una carrera en condiciones después de eso.

Recordaré toda mi vida el mini shock de verlos en Castellón en una sala que seríamos 100 personas, poco más... y que nada mas entrar lo que viera fuese al cantante en la silla del merch comiendose tremendo bocata de Chorizo del mercadona
Cuando deberían haber tenido una trayectoría mucho mas grande.

El nuevo single me ha molado bastante, aunque el rollete es totalmente este Punk rock, enfocado más al rock, muy Gaslight Anthem, Dave Hause y demás.
