Gojira - Magma (17 Junio)

Back in August 2018, Joseph Duplantier told Metal Injection that the band started to work on new music almost three years ago. "Usually we write 12 songs and record 12 songs and release 12 songs," he said. "Now it looks like we're going to write 100 songs. It's a different approach and it's fun. We have new desires and a new way of doing things. I like to think it's going to be awesome. I feel it's going to be really exciting, for us at least. I don't know what people are going to think."

In the same interview, Joseph said that GOJIRA was planning to explore some new territory on the upcoming album. "I want to go back to some of the older influences that we have," he said. "We were always not a death metal band. Before that, I was a DIRE STRAITS fan, Michael Jackson. We have that in us and some progressive stuff too. We have all these things and we need to express that somehow, mixed with our own special sauce. We're working with stuff that sometimes is a bit surprising, even to us. Sometimes it's, like, 'What is this?' I don't know, let it sleep a little bit and go back to it. After this, we're going to go back into the studio and see what's going on."

Cualquier parecido con Dire Straits o Michael Jackson en Gojira es de hacérselo mirar. Estarían trolleando.

Lo que entiendo de ahí es que eran fanes pero no que hubiera elementos de ellos en su música.

Me ha gustado más que todo Magma entero, ojalá vuelvan por derroteros mas tipo niño salvaje, el break a partir del minuto dos huele muy muy prog, y les viene como anillo al dedo. De momento pulgares arriba con la esperanza de que no saquen algo tan liviano como el álbum de 2016.

Yo entiendo que sí, pero se puede interpretar otra manera (cosas del English) 🙂

Yo lo entiendo cómo que está en "ellos", es decir, qué forma parte de su cultura musical y que sale de alguna forma, no que vayan a marcarse un álbum disco pop. Al final esas influencias habrán estado ahí siempre, y a mi entender es posiblemente lo que los haga más accesibles que otras bandas del rollo.

Pero vamos, lo que decías, interpretaciones del inglés, que luego quién sabe, igual nos sacan un Billie Jean a lo Gojira y nos callan la boca (que tampoco me molestaría)

que dejen evolucionar a la banda!! para comer churros con azucar incansablemente vayanse a la feria del pueblo, ganas de vomitar me da lo mismo siempre. Solo a Tool se lo permito, puro mantra

Bastante flojo el tema, la verdad. No me termina de convencer para nada. Veo el tema muy apagado, falto de más energía, como que no termina de explotar en ningún momento. Veo que siguen por los senderos del Magma, que a mi es un disco que me sigue pareciendo bastante flojo. No por que sea más reposado y progresivo, quizás, sino porque creo que no han sabido enfocarlo de la mejor manera. Una pena, pues es un grupo que desde el The Link(disco infravalorado) hasta el magnífico L'Enfant Sauvage, me gustan mucho.

Ostiaaaa... Menudos artistas si... Mejor que sigan con Gojira... Eso sí, verlos mientras echas unas cerves... Tiene que ser un pasote! A la cuarta birra seguro que acabas diciendo "el mejor concierto de mi vida' jajaja
