Me siento un poco como Jorge Javier Vázquez o como la TMZ, pero da igual, este culebrón merece la pena que siga y que todos sepamos de él.

VISTA — The lead singer of a successful Christian heavy-metal band told at least two people at a gym recently that he wanted to have his wife killed, a prosecutor said in court Thursday.

Timothy Lambesis, 32, of the band As I Lay Dying, met with a person he believed was a hit man — but was actually an undercover detective — and handed him an envelope containing $1,000 cash, his wife’s address and the gate security codes. He told the agent he wanted his wife “gone,” said Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso.

This and other information led sheriff’s investigators to arrest Lambesis Tuesday in Oceanside. He pleaded not guilty in Vista Superior Court to a single count of solicitation for murder. He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.

During the arraignment, Judge Martin Staven set Lambesis’ bail at $3 million, noting that the defendant has ties across the United States as well as outside the country. If he posts bail, the judge said, Lambesis will have to surrender his passport and wear a GPS device to monitor his whereabouts.

Staven also ordered the defendant to stay away from his wife, Meggan Lambesis, and their three children.

Defense attorney Anthony Salerno did not talk in detail about the allegations during the hearing, but said afterward that he believed his client may have been the victim of a setup.

“He did not intend to harm anybody,” the Los Angeles-based lawyer said.

Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso, who had asked for bail as high as $20 million, told the judge that the couple’s relationship suffered a major blow in August of last year when Tim Lambesis was on tour with his band. He sent an email to his wife saying he no longer loved her and did not want to be with her anymore.

He also wrote in the email that he no longer believed in God, the prosecutor said.

The wife learned that Lambesis had been having affairs with other women. She filed for divorce in September, citing “irreconcilable differences” and alleging that her husband had become obsessed with bodybuilding and going to the gym. She said in court documents that she was concerned about her husband’s ability to care for their children.

The couple had been married eight years.

Grasso told the judge that the defendant met twice with someone at the gym, on April 23 and 24, and talked about wanting to kill his wife. That person also had a conversation with another gym patron who, when asked how Lambesis was doing, said “he would be better if his wife was killed.”

On Tuesday, Lambesis met with the person he believed was a hit man. In addition to the money, Lambesis provided photos of his wife and dates when the children would be with him, the prosecutor said.

When the detective asked Lambesis specifically if he wanted his wife killed, he responded, “Yes, that’s exactly what I want,” the prosecutor said.

Grasso said the wife is “terrified” and living with her children in seclusion. She said the woman remains fearful that her husband may have paid someone else to harm her.
“We don’t know who else is out there,” the prosecutor said.

Outside the courtroom, Salerno said his client was “disappointed” in how the divorce was proceeding, but did not want to physically hurt her. He said there was no domestic violence in the relationship and Lambesis had no criminal record.

Although he did not provide many details, Salerno said he believes someone may have given false information about Lambesis to authorities in order to “save his own skin.”

“I would call it a scumbag snitch set up,” he said.

Several of Lambesis’ family members and friends, including some of his bandmates, appeared at the hearing Thursday. Many of them submitted letters to the judge showing their support for the defendant.

Ya indagaré un poco con mi hermano, que es abogado, a ver que tipo de pena le puede caer a alguien por planear matar a otro? debe ser equivalente a si lo has hecho ya? ahí dejo eso...

Es un poco surrealista todo este asunto.

Contratar a un sicario para que mate a su mujer... Parece el argumento de un telefilm de Antena 3 de los domingos por la tarde.

Para un fan de la banda como yo, ver a Tim de esa guisa impresiona bastante.

De pelicula de domingo al mediodia por completo. Si una pelicula saca el argumento de que la deja por email y en el divorcio ella alega que se ha obsesionado con el gimnasio y luego intenta contratar un sicario, pensaría que el guionista se ha pasado de fantasia

Igual soy yo que pienso demasiado, pero ¿De verdad un jueves dices en el gimnasio que quieres matar a tu mujer, eso de alguna manera llega a la policía local(eso es lo que sería un sheriff no? que yo del sistema policial de USA sé lo que me enseñó The Wire na más), y a los días un policía encubierto viene diciéndote que puede hacerlo y si aceptas, de verdad eso es igualmente incriminatorio que si hubieras contratado a un sicario real? ¿Toda la investigación empezada y acabada en un lapso de qué, 5 días? ¿No es lo mismo que si la policía te ofrece droga, te la vende y acto seguido te inculpa por posesión? Qué a mi este pollo me la pela, en mi vida los he escuchado y si es metalcore cristiano más meh todavía, pero no sé, me he leído la noticia y me ha chirriado mucho...

A mi todo me parece demasiado raro.. no sé..

En realidad todo esto es falso: es el trailer de una serie sobre As I Lay Dying que verá la luz dentro de poco. La publicidad está siendo maravillosa, ¿no? Stay tuned!

Hombre, raro es, pero más raro es que haya un sobre rojo lleno de datos de su mujer, con las huellas de Lambesis y con las claves de la alarma, cosa que sólo conocían ellos en principio. A mi me parece que es un poco tontaco o inocentón. Como dejar a tu mujer por email, que hay que ser roñas.

Está claro que eso es mucho más importante que que un posible inocente vaya 9 años al talego

¡Pero dónde va a parar! ¡Mucho más importante! Es más, yo soy partidario de que, aunque sea culpable, no lo metan en la cárcel, porque todos esos fanboys del mundo se quedarían sin un frontman maravilloso y, además, mejor persona. Si hubiera justicia declararían a Lambesis "Persona de Interes Internacional", le condenarían a dar conciertos gratuitos por todo el mundo durante 9 años y santas pascuas. Aquí paz y después gloria.

Dejar a tu mujer por mail y mandar un sobre rojo con información para que la maten, cómo no lo había pensado yo antes.
