The Menzingers - Some Of It Was True (13 de octubre 2023)

Acaban de estrenar nuevo single que irá destinado a su próximo álbum, aunque todavía no han dado más detalles.

Pues me ha costado un poco a la primera, pero me ha gustado.
La producción un poco light y sucia, pero creo que le queda guay.

Written over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, Some Of It Was True is the most realized version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago—have fun and be ourselves.

Some Of It Was True is a collection of 13 songs centered around the prospect of hope and all the uncertainties that accompany it. Some songs are acts of love and joy, while others are in a neverending search for it. Together, they’re stories written from experiences of our own and from those we met along the way.

We can’t thank Bradley Cook enough for producing this album. Brad helped us cut through the noise to create something really true to heart, and his outlook on life and creativity will stay with us forever. We also owe a massive thanks to our friend Jon Low for lending his talents to the band once again by mixing the album. We absolutely couldn’t have done it without either of you.

Nuevo single. Podría haber estado en el disco de Barnett del año pasado.

Pues a ver, super chill. No está mal, pero me molaría más de garra. Como sea, en el computo del disco puede ser guay si no se hay mucho tema así.

Nuevo single antes de que el disco salga el viernes. Tema 100% Menzingers.

Pues otro disco lleno de canciones buenísimas como acostumbran. No hay nada nuevo ni que sorprenda, pero cuando un grupo es tan bueno haciendo lo que hace, tampoco hace falta más.

Ojalá volviesen por aquí, pero eso ya lo veo más jodido.

Le estoy dando otra vuelta al disco y esto es lo que tendrían que haber sacado The Gaslight Anthem. Cada vez tiran más al rock americano, pero es que las canciones siguen ahí.

Este de The Menzingers no entrará en su top, pero es un buen añadido a la discografía, bastante majete.
El de Gaslight desde luego le falta garra en comparación.
También digo que es que su producción es un desastre, le pones esta de los Menzingers y hay canciones que ganarían muchos puntos, seguro. Pero bueno, eso ya es otro tema

Bueno, no creo que sea solo cuestión de producción. Porque el de Menzingers, sin ser lo mejor que han hecho, sigue teniendo lo más importante de todo, que son las canciones. Y notas que el grupo se las cree y le ponen ganas.

El de Gaslight... pues que no tienen nada de eso. Y es preocupante porque ellos son los que tenían que haber demostrado más cosas en este disco, pero...
