“War Eternal” has been set as the title to Arch Enemy‘s new album. Century Media have given that outing a June 10th North American release date. Band guitarist Michael Amott said of the outing, which is to be mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost):

“We’ve been producing ourselves, as we did on “Khaos Legions”. We have a clear vision of what we want Arch Enemy to sound like and we can actually achieve it without the help of outside producers, we also have the advantage of having two talented sound engineers among our ranks in Daniel Erlandsson (drums) and Nick Cordle (guitar).

We’ve been tracking at a few different studios here in Sweden, the drums at Fascination Street Studio and guitars and bass in another room. We just finished vocals in a third studio with engineer Staffan Karlsson (“Khaos Legions”) and the mix and mastering will done by Jens Bogren at his Fascination Street mixing facility.

Musically, this album is going a few places we haven’t visited before. As our fans have come expect, our albums have all had their own vibe and “War Eternal” will leave its own mark. Lyrically it’s a much more personal record and I feel the songs have more dynamics and depth than ever before, the songs are loaded with strong and vicious metal drenched in tons of melody and emotion. All the trademarks of Arch Enemy are present, just more in your face and turned up to 11.”

Amott also elaborated on the albums title:

“A lot of times life is a struggle, a war against what I like to call “mental chains” in society that try to prevent you from living life the way you want, trying to stop you from making your dreams come true. I have always resented that and I always will. The title sums up our collective attitude a band as well; stages will be destroyed, eardrums will bleed. There will be no choice. This, ladies and gentlemen, is War Eternal…”

¡Angela Gossow deja de ser la vocalista de Arch Enemy! La banda ya anuncia a su sustituta

Noticia que nos ha cogido por sorpresa. La banda sueca sufre la baja de su vocalista y anuncia a su sustituta.
Según confirma los propios ARCH ENEMY a través de su redes sociales oificiales, en junio de este año, la banda publicará su noveno trabajo de estudio “War Eternal” a través de Century Media, tal y como os informamos. Pero esta no es la novedad más importante.

ARCH ENEMY anuncia a Alissa White-Gluz, de los canadienses THE AGONIST, como la nueva vocalista de la banda.

Angela Gossow, quien se unió a ARCH ENEMY en 2000 y debutó con Wages Of Sin (2001), deja su puesto de front-woman y se centrará en su trabajo como manager, mientras Alissa ocupa su lugar.

En breve ampliaremos información, y os traeremos las declaraciones de las protagonistas.

Dentro de unos días, ARCH ENEMY presentarán el video clip del tema título de este nuevo disco “War Eternal”.

A ver que tal le sienta el cambio a la banda, parecía que se habían estancado un poco. Y no se si meterán lírico ahora con la nueva.

Una pena, angela era una bestia y le daba personalidad al grupo.
Aunque alissa esta muy buena y lo hace muy bien tambien, yo creo que metera melodicos.
Lo mismo le viene bien al grupo.

Para mi arch enemy llevan muertos tiempo...

Yo creo que puede ser un punto de inflexión para el grupo, los veía algo estancados ... a ver si la cantante nueva (que tiene grandes condiciones) les da aire fresco.
