As I promised in my previous post, I was going to tell you guys the good, the bad, and the ugly. Last week the band received a phone call that brought sad news to us. Our long time friend, brother and guitar player, Michael Rowan, informed us he would be exiting the band. This isn't one of those posts, of a band being politically correct about a band member leaving, this made us seriously, very fucking sad. Rowan joined the band when he was 17 years old, replacing original guitar player Joey Ruiz, he went on to do 4 studio albums, 3 EP's and thousands of shows with Insolence, all over the world. Mikey was with the band through the good times, the bad times, and the slow times. But on the bright side, Michael has been blessed with a wonderful career opportunity and the band as a whole, stands by Michael with his career decision, and his new move towards the future. He is and will always be, a friend, a brother and a cherished member of this group. We love you Mikey!!
Here's where the story gets weird.... Sometimes life comes full circle. Sometimes it's all about fate, circumstance and timing. Insolence is happy to announce the return of our original guitar player Joey Ruiz. We are excited to have Joey back. Ruiz played on all the Insolence, 'Indie'releases aka 'demos' that later made up a large chunk of the music that ended up on the Insolence debut album Revolution, which was released on Maverick records. Joey helped lay the ground work for many of our songs, and played hundreds of shows with us, as well as doing 2 European tours with the band, from 1995-1999. The band is looking forward to the future, and is currently in the studio writing, and doing pre-production on their 6th studio album. Stay tuned, we have a lot more news and good things in the works for Insolence, to be announced soon! FULL CIRCLE!
