Social Distortion están empezando a anunciar los festivales en los que estarán en 2021, así que es de esperar que también estén en el Azkena del año que viene.

Parece que POR FIN empieza a haber movimiento. Mike Ness ha comentado que en febrero-marzo de 2022 entrarán a grabar y que tienen unas 40 canciones para elegir (que para llevar 10 años sin haber sacado nada, me parecen hasta pocas ): https://www.instagram.com/p/CVi57-1hk_p/

Mientras esperamos a que al señorito le dé por entrar en el estudio, me acabo de encontrar con esta actuación suya de hace apenas un mes en el festival Welcome To Rockville. Hay 4 temas nuevos.

El disco al final entran a grabarlo en octubre y se supone que saldría en primavera de 2023. Teniendo en cuenta que en noviembre de 2021 dijo que entrarían en marzo de 2022 a grabarlo, tiene pinta de ser muy fiable todo

Hoy primer bolo de la gira, a ver si mete las canciones buenas de verdad o sigue con esos sets tan raros

La verdad es que suele hacer setlists muy extraños, dejándose fuera muchos de sus hitazos, pero luego también te mete canciones que no te esperas que molan muchísimo... y luego también nuevas que ni conoces.

Mi experiencia las 3 veces que les he visto.

Groezrock 2015: Entre que tocaba las canciones con una marcha de menos y que la noche anterior no había dormido nada por el frío que hacía en el camping (de las peores experiencias de mi vida), estaba que me caía del sueño. No sé, yo creo que más que el setlist que eligan (diría que me molan la inmensa mayoría de sus canciones), es la actitud y las ganas con las que salga Ness al escenario. Te puede dar una muy buena noche o una simplemente correcta.

Si los has visto ya varias veces o eres un mega acérrimo vale, pero es que yo ni una cosa ni la otra.

Me gustan mucho, pero no concibo que solo toquen una del White Light o que se dejen un mega hitazo como Reach For The Sky (quizá mi canción favorita) y que te meta tres canciones nuevas que ni han sido publicadas. No sé, todo muy raro.

After 5 weeks of hard work we finished the pre-production for our new record today. We start tracking on April 17 and this record should be hitting stores early 2024.

Hay un reel en el que se le ve escuchando "Tonight" con sus gatetes. Huele a que sería el primer single.

We think that life is going to go according to our plan, but it has a way of saying “I don’t think so!”

In the midst of pre-production, I was diagnosed with stage one tonsil cancer. I was feeling well enough to continue with recording in the studio up until the very day before surgery. The band and I were so inspired and excited to lay down these tracks, which by the way sound f-ing AWESOME!

The recovery from surgery is a day-by-day process and in three weeks we start radiation and that should be the last therapy I need. The team of doctors are certain that once finished with this course, I will be able to start the healing and recovery process. We expect a full recovery enabling me to live a long and productive life.

It breaks my heart to postpone the Summer Tour, and this album release, but time is required to heal. I can’t thank our loyal fans enough who have been waiting so patiently for this. While it will take a little longer-I promise you that it will be delivered and it will exceed your expectations.

I want you all to know that this has opened my eyes to a whole new struggle. I know it’s one that many of you or your loved ones have personally endured, and my heart goes out to you-because I now know what it’s like from this heavy experience.

I’m surrounded by love and support from my friends and family ESPECIALLY my lovely wife and incredible boys (oh and don’t forget my 3 dogs and kitty) THANK YOU ALL in advance to our unbelievable fans for YOUR love and support right now. ♥️

Por supuesto, lo primero es que se recupere bien, pero a este paso el nuevo disco me va a pillar con nietos, jubilado y la hipoteca pagada.

Buenas noticias. Se van de gira por los States la próxima primavera con Bad Religion. Eso significa que Mike Ness ya debe estar recuperado del cáncer.

Mike dice que en enero volverán a entrar en el estudio para terminar de grabar toda la música del nuevo disco (guitarras y teclados, básicamente). Luego se irá de gira con Bad Religion y en verano quiere grabar las voces porque así después de los conciertos su voz será más fuerte que ahora, ya que todavía se está recuperando del cáncer. Así que el nuevo disco podría estar listo para finales de 2024 o comienzos de 2025.
