Dvne - Voidkind (19 de abril)

Pues me moló mucho ayer en Madrid. El escenario era tan pequeño que no entraban los 5 con todos los cacharros y el teclista tuvo que tocar literlamente a pie de escenario (por cierto, pensaba que tenían a una chavala para las teclas... no sé si ha dejado el grupo o es un sutituto). Aún así fue incluso mejor porque le añadió un plus de intensidad a todo. El sonido no fue perfecto digamos, pero lo suficente como para poner a toda la sala a hacer headbanging. A los tíos se les veía disfrutar mucho. Uno de los guitarras/cantantes llevaba una cami de Toundra (han estado girando con ellos este verano). El setlist, creo que todo del segundo disco. Solo una del primero para acabar, que no la conocía, y ahí ya sí que se lió un buen pogo y acabó con el teclista haciendo stage diving

Y de entrada muy bien. Estaba llena la Wurli. La verdad que muy buenas sensaciones con esta gente. A ver con el siguiente disco hasta dónde llegan.

Que envidia, lástima no poder ir

Pues una pena lo de la zagala, les daba un puntito guay. Yo tengo muchísimas ganas de hoy, junto a Messa además, dos de las bandas que más interesantes me parecen últimamente.

Tremendos. Un lujo verlos así y quitarnos la espinita de la cancelación del año pasado.

Voidkind succeeds in finding new modes of expression for DVNE. The songs are more pointed, direct, and memorable, but the soundscape still has a radiant, evolving, hypnotic flow, the effect achieved with fewer layers of sonic ornamentation, consciously urging closer to DVNE’s incendiary live sound. And despite the addition of a full-time keyboardist, Vicart has no doubt about the album’s defining feature, “We wanted very distinct left and right guitars, and punchier drums and bass, which would transcribe better live. And the synths needed to be clearer; it’s very easy to put five guitars on each side, loads of different vocals and keys, but then you end up watching a band with an album you really like, and the songs sound nothing like the record. That’s what we wanted to avoid. As soon as the song starts, we want people to immediately recognise the riff.”
