Dave Grohl insinuó el pasado sábado –durante ese concierto en el que se subió al escenario con Neil Young– que Foo Fighters podría tomarse un descanso. Ante una multitud de 60.000 personas, antes de tocar la cuarta canción de la noche, Grohl dijo: “No tenemos ningún concierto después de éste. Honestamente, no sé cuándo volveremos a hacerlo, así que éste es el lugar perfecto”. Después, al calor de grandes temas como My Hero, Times Like These, All My Life y Best Of You se desató la euforia entre los fans. Con Everlong Grohl volvió a dirigirse al público: “No sé cuando, pero nos veremos de nuevo”.
Antes, ya en el Reading Festival, Grohl comentó que se trataba del último concierto de la banda en un largo período. Sin embargo, Foo Fighters se apuntaron al concierto gratuito ofrecido en Nueva York este sábado gracias a www.globalcitizen.org. Una vez más, ha vuelto a hablar de despedidas

Si es un descanso como el anterior no me preocupa en exceso.
Y a ver si sale ya el documental que tenía entre manos, que mucho nombre, trailer y adelanto pero no hace más que poner los dientes largos.

Pero luego no salió Grohl diciendo que se refería a su último concierto en ¿Reino Unido era? No recuerdo el sitio.

Parafraseando a @meneillos, ahora ya casi no se distinguen entre los espacios entre disco y disco, los hiatos indefinidos, e incluso a veces los permanentes

No me preocupa... luego se tirarán otros dos o tres años hasta sacar el nuevo, como hacen siempre.

Estoy de acuerdo, se lo tomará con tiempo, pero no creo que sea un descanso indefinido ni una ruptura de la banda, nuestro Dave siempre se ha tomado las cosas con muuuccchhhaaaa calma, creo que pasaran unas añitos y sacarán disco (2015 creo yo... )
A que documental os referís??? hay algo más que el "back and forth"?

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn't think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But... I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world.

Yes... I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just... put it back in the garage for a while...

But, no gold watches or vacations just yet... I'll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I've ever worked on. Get ready... it's coming.

Me, Taylor, Nate, Pat, Chris, and Rami... I'm sure we'll all see you out there... somewhere...
