The Menzingers - Rented World (22 de abril)

Nuevo disco de esta gente para el 22 de abril.

Two years ago, punk kids everywhere took notice of a little band from Scranton, PA called the Menzingers. It was hard not to. Their third album, On The Impossible Past, had just been released and stunned everyone. Its perfect symmetry of chaos and harmony earned it positive reviews across the board. Plus, a pretty distinct cover image featuring a close-up shot of a woman’s bra-less cleavage made it sort of hard to forget. Even the too-cool-for-school punks scrambled to catch up. “Oh, yeah yeah, the Mensinkers. Totally. I always listened to them. The Metznenggers are my favorite band. The one with the boobs on the cover.”

The only problem was, the band set an incredibly high bar for themselves. How would they go about topping something which many people will forever believe to be their best work? Well, if their new album, Rented World, is any indicator, the answer is: very, very fucking forcefully. The Zingers don’t seem to be too concerned with matching anyone’s standards or expectations on their fourth album. It is distinctly their own, loaded with all kinds of new ways to define their sound and to top their impossible past.

El anterior era un discón y el adelanto no suena nada mal. Muchas ganas!

Muy flojo el adelanto...

Este grupo lo tengo bastante pendiente. Me flipa "nice things" pero es la única que me se xD
A ver que día me pongo a escuchar los discos enteros en serio, por que el adelanto este me ha gustado la verdad.

Pues vete a por el anterior, On The Impossible Past, que es una joya. De los mejores que han salido dentro de este rollo:

On The Impossible Past es una maravilla, el adelanto no esta mal .. aunque seguro que el disco tiene temones ... tengo que verles en directo alguna vez

Parece que en mayo estarán de gira por Europa. A ver si hay suerte y se dejan caer por aqui.

A mi me pasa más o menos lo mismo, pero he de reconocer que el anterior de Menzingers tenía alguna cosita chula. A los Sharks no les he pillado nunca el punto, me parecen demasiado nenazas gratuitas*.

*No confundir nenazas gratuitas con putas menores de edad.

El disco anterior tiene una colección de TEMAZOS deliciosos y quien diga lo contrario... está diciendo lo contrario.

Es que el anterior era un disco cojonuderrimo, ya digo que de lo mejor que ha salido de este rollo en los últimos años... En cambio Sharks se quedaron en un blufff de los gordos, y eso que el recopilatorio de los EP's estaba chulo, pero luego los discos de estudio eran una versión excesivamente pulida y edulcorada de aquello... Nada que ver con lo que ofrecen los Mazinger Z estos.

Me espero a poder escuchar el disco entero, pero lo que comentan esto tiene pinta de que lo han vuelto a hacer...
