Hello! And welcome to 2015!
Hope you all enjoyed the holidays. We are still digesting everything we ate and drank, but we did manage to round up more bands for you in between courses. Here are some more new names who will be playing your favorite punkrock festival GROEZROCK in just four months.
There won’t be any blurred lines from Swedish hardcore powerhouse Raised Fist, though. Yes, they’re back after about 5 years of silence. Their new album “From The North” dropped earlier this month and it’s simply what we have gotten to know and love them for: awesome, straightforward, heavy hardcore punk. They just finished recording a video for the song “Flow”, and they want YOU to be the first to see it! Isn’t that sweet? Here’s what vocalist Alexander has to say about it:
"Its more than 10 years since we played Groezrock. Still we have so many clear memories from that insane show! This spring we finally return! With a new album, and a band on a whole new level! We are glad to announce our new video in co-lab with Groezrock and Epitaph.
The song “Flow” is about living the life you love, loving the life you live. You don't need waterfalls of much, just a constant flow of little. Feelings, creativity, love, hate - everything needs a constant flow and circulation.
The video illustrates what we feel like music-wise and mentally after being away for almost 6 years, surrounded by people wanting to put a lit on our outflow, and hinder the circulation. Instead of making this Hollywood polished "expendables" action video like “Friends & Traitors”, we wanted a gritty, nasty, disturbing look in the style of the movie "Pusher". Everything to accompany the rough sound and feeling of FROM THE NORTH.
We recorded this in a freezing hangar. Almost no clothes. We got wet, we got spit on, we got hit for real and it was just the worst recording ever comfortable-wise. Enjoy the result!”
Thank you, Alexander. Now, on with the show!
Come to think of it, describing knapsack as new might be stretching the truth a little. After breaking up in 2000, the band is now back and it will be a pleasure to watch them blur the lines between emo and indie at Groezrock.
Another band that has been around the block, gotten lost and then found its way back to the stage is Diesel Boy.
According to the band they are ‘thrilled to have been asked to perform at the 2015 Groezrock Festival. Having played some of the world’s finest cities — New York, London, Sydney — we couldn’t be happier to add Meerhout to that list. In preparation for our first Belgian show in 15 years, we will view the complete Jean-Claude Van Damme filmography (including "The Shepherd: Border Patrol”) and subsist entirely on a diet of stoofkarbonnaden and Duvel until we appear at the festival on May 2’.
You almost fooled us by leaving a letter out of your name but we figured you out, Frank. My Chemical Romance called it a day in 2013, but rhythm guitarist Frank Iero sure wasn’t done writing music. He recorded an album pretty much on his own in 2014, recruited a touring band and will be coming over to Europe. Yup, FRNKIERO ANDTHE CELLABRATION will be playing at Groezrock.
From Cellabrations to Obliterations. Featuring members of Black Mountain, Pink Mountaintops and Saviours, the band already knows how to come up with some heavy riffing. Drop them in Dave Grohl’s studio, put Chris Owens (Young Widows, Coliseum) and Kurt Ballou (Converge, High on Fire) behind the mixing table and you can bet your a** that you’ll be blown away by a heavy dose of insanely intense hardcore punk.
If you don’t like it so loud and aggressive, you can just, ehm, f*ck off and die. Really, that’s what F.O.D. stands for. These local heroes have been sweeping girls off their feet with sugar sweet harmonies and super fun punk rock for quite a while now. And they’re more than happy to share their “Tricks of the Trade” with you.
Over to the Macbeth Stage then… they have announced three more names as well, starting off with The Deaf, a Dutch band that likes 60ies garage and rock ‘n roll with Spike (Di-rect) on vocals.
Also from The Netherlands is Call It Off, a pop-punk band that has been listening to a fair amount of Green Day. UK’s Under The Influence will be playing the Macbeth stage as well. Under their influences they list Dr Dre, Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg and sound not unlike other UK acts like Enter Shikari and TRC.
We have 20 more bands to announce so keep tuning in for more news!

Pennywise, Motion City Soundtrack y Joyce Manor entre las nuevas confirmaciones...
Quedan 13 grupos... dificil veo que vayan a caer Thrice al final...
Hello, lover-boys and lover-girls… Light a candle, slip into something more comfortable and get ready to unwrap a special early Valentine’s Day present from us for you. Nope, it’s not a box of chocolates, Forrest. It’s a bunch of new names that’ll make you love us even more than ever!
Let’s get a little emo-punk first, with Epitaph’s Joyce Manor. They released one hell of a new album last year with “Never Hungover Again” and will play the hell out of said album at GROEZROCK. We know that album title is a lie, though, because, y’know, there might be some people hung over at our little punk rock get-together. The best remedy to get rid of it is, of course, to get yourself a “cold one” and watch Pennywise tear it up. And have another one while celebrating the tenth anniversary of the legendary album “Commit This To Memory” during Motion City Soundtrack's special set.
Seeing as we’ve started this update in a Valentine’s Day theme, we at Groezrock want to tell you that we love you all. We also love zombies. So it made sense to us to book Love Zombies, an infectious power pop band that combines California sunshine with London punk.
According to Wikipedia, broilers are a subspecies of the red junglefowl chicken and a gallinaceous domesticated fowl, bred and raised specifically for meat production...uhm ...huh...???
But Broilers are also one of Germany’s biggest punkrock bands whose sound evolved from oi! to a mix of punk, rockabilly, soul and ska. It’s their first time ever in Belgium!
Last but not least, we picked up FORUS in France. These dudes like Propagandhi, Belvedere and A Wilhelm Scream so you know it’s going to be fast and technical. They also inform us on their Facebook page that they like huuuuuuuuuuge tits. So ladies, if you feel like indulging them, you know what to do!
(DISCLAIMER: Please note that because we are as politically correct as can be, we do not condone naked boobies at a show. Especially sweaty man boobs.)
And that’s not all because we still have 13 more names to announce! Did you like your Valentine’s Day present well enough to return the favor with some lovemakin’? We promise we’ll cuddle a little bit after we’re done.
Quedan 13 grupos... dificil veo que vayan a caer Thrice al final...

BREAKING NEWS: Social Distortion CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF SELF-TITLED ALBUM WITH FULL ALBUM PERFORMANCES DURING EUROPEAN 2015 TOUR
Social Distortion will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of their “self-titled” album, by performing the album in its entirety during the upcoming European Tour in April and May this year.
Released in March 1990, Social Distortion was the iconic band’s 3rd album and the first for Epic Records. It became their best-selling album worldwide, and the first one to enter the Billboard 200 album chart. Singles “Story Of My Life,” “Ball and Chain,” “Ring of Fire” and “Let It Be Me” all reached Top 25 Billboard single chart positions. The album is set to be re-released on limited edition color vinyl for Record Store Day in the US. More news to follow.
In regard to the forthcoming tour supporting the 25th Anniversary of the seminal album, frontman Mike Ness states: "We're all looking forward to Europe. It's a different time frame for us; we're playing Groezrock for the first time, so it's exciting to be doing something new. As I've said before, we've made Europe a priority and I feel we've been consistent over the last ten years on touring there more regularly than ever before. This tour is going to be extra special for us and everyone attending the shows. 2015 is the 25th Anniversary of our self-titled record, so we're going to be playing the album in its entirety. And with Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas and my man Jonny Two Bags warming things up, it's going to be a great run."
Social Distortion Track listing:
1. "So Far Away"
2. "Let It Be Me"
3. "Story of My Life"
4. "Sick Boys"
5. "Ring of Fire"
6. "Ball and Chain"
7. "It Coulda Been Me"

In the 25 years since the release of Social Distortion, the band have gone on to release four more critically acclaimed and fan favorite studio albums; “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell” (1992), “White Light, White Heat, White Trash (1996)”, “Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll” (2004) and “Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes” (2011). Social Distortion’s latest release Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes was the first album with their current label Epitaph Records and the band’s highest charting album in their career. Produced for the first time by Ness himself, the album debuted at #3 on German Album Charts and #4 in the US Billboard Chart.
Social Distortion’s upcoming European Tour will take place in April and May this year. The three-week tour will start on April 17th in Hamburg (Germany), and include both headlining shows as well as the appearances at key music festivals, like Groezrock in Belgium and Loudfest in Switzerland. Please see below for the full list of dates. In addition to performing Social Distortion in its entirety, the band will also play classic tracks and rarities from their extensive back catalogue.
